Course Objectives | This is mainly a course on fundamental concepts of health psychology. It is aimed to introduce topics of health psychology research and methodology applied in health psychology research. Reviewing established theory and recent research, comprehensive health perceptions and beliefs, and behaviors including smoking, exercise, diet and health screening will be discussed. Also, pain, pain management, coping with terminal illness ans adjustment to chronic illness will be discussed with supporting research articles. Finally, chronic illnesses will be discussed in terms of stigma, health related quality of life and depression. |

Course Description | The aim of this course is to introduce the basic concepts of health psychology which includes illness, adaptation to illness, health related quality of life, health behaviors and basic research methods that widely applied in health psychology. |
